This fall is different than any other fall season for this family of faith and as we approach this time of closure, it is my hope that may be strengthened by our faith and God's promise to make all things new.
To journey through these next two months we will do what families of faith do, in times of joy as well as in times of challenge, and that is eat, pray and love.
We are hoping to draw together at Rock Chapel on four different occasions for four different purposes; and I will list them here in a chronological order for the sake of clarity for our calendars but none are more or less important than the other.
Beginning of Sunday, September 24th at 7pm we will have a confirmation service welcoming Roshan, Matthew and Macie as members of the United Church of Canada through the congregation of Rock Chapel United Church. At this worship service we will have communion which the confirmands will serve.
On Sunday, October 15th, at 10:00 am we will have a morning worship service with the company of our sister churches Lynden and St Mark's United.
On Tuesday October 24th at 6pm we will have dinner which will be hosted by the Rock Chapel UCW who have oversight of the meal. At this occasion, we will share our stories with one another of our lives lived as this family of faith. (We will need a count for this meal so please call and leave a message at the church 905-689-5946 or contact Diane Watson directly)
On Sunday, October 29th, at 2:30pm we will have our closing worship during which we will decovenant and decommission. The conference and presbytery will be notified and we in the process of planning this very special and memorable worship.
Please speak with folks you know who have been a part of this family of faith over the years and have either moved away or are no longer worshipping regularly so that they too are aware of these closing ceremonies.
On all other regular Sunday mornings, please know you are most welcome to attend at Lynden at 9:00 am or at St Mark's at 10:30 am until such time as our closing celebrations are complete.
Until our paths cross, know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE 9:00 a.m. at Lynden United Church.
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Dundas.
A combination of prayers, singing, scripture reading and a message on God's word for our lives.
Join us after the Service for refreshments and fellowship!
Are you searching for a place to live out your faith journey with other people, experience the traditions of the church and yet feel free to question, have doubts, and listen for God’s voice speaking in a new way?
We invite you to come and be part of our community. We do not all think or believe the same things, but are united by the love of God and a vision of greater hope for our world.
Rock Chapel United Church - Our Mission
As followers of Jesus, we are called to live God's love:
Enact it as a congregation, share it in our community, and nurture it in our world
